Manifesto

Why this site exists

You can be careful and still run out before payday. That sentence is the whole site.

Most money content assumes the hole is you: too many lattes, not enough grit, a budget you failed to honor. Sometimes spending is messy. Often the month is messy in a more boring way. Rent is due on the 1st. Pay lands on the 5th and the 20th. Insurance drafts on a Tuesday you forgot. A tire or a copay or an overdraft fee turns a tight week into a wrecked one.

If that is your life, you do not need a speech. You need a diagnosis of this month, and a plan that fits until the next paycheck.

What we believe

Tight is usually a system. Timing, housing, healthcare, insurance, fees, uneven pay, debt minimums. Character lectures are cheap. They also miss.

The first job is the next payday. Cover the next two weeks without a late fee if you can. Then build a $400 shock buffer. Then $1,000.

Shame is a terrible budgeting app. Humor punches the trap, never the person.

What we will not sell you

Payday loans. Debt-settlement mills. “Credit hacks.” Anything that deepens the leak to collect a fee.
